Yell Labs is an innovation arm of Yell and we are a team of approximately 20 talented engineers and developers working on new product offerings and solutions for Yell. Based near Holborn, London the office environment is relaxed, though we set high standards for ourselves and we are seeking an additional tester to join the team.

The post holder should have strong automation skills and a background in software development. The role will involve facilitating testing for a team of software engineers across a diverse set of technologies. The Yell Labs team have a variety of mobile and web products/services that require full QA cycles.

Responsibilities

You are expected to maintain and enhance the testing practices within the team by providing and being responsible for Integration, Functional, End-to-End, Performance and User Acceptance testing.

• Understand and implement the testing life cycle from Test Planning through to designing Automated Scripts and execution
• Liaise with Project Managers / SCRUM Masters to plan the testing, and estimate preparation and execution times.
• Create and execute testing for web portal applications and handheld devices (iOS and Android etc)
• Maintain and enhance Regression Testing with Selenium RC / Grid, JMeter, SoapUI, also be able to identify areas where there would be value in implementing Regression.
• Execute testing within short time frames and feedback results quickly and effectively to the developers and other parties involved.

Requirements

• Prior extensive proven experience in testing complex systems (functional and integration testing) and front end.
• Be passionate about testing with a high level of self-motivation
• Has a high level of attention to detail
• Comfortable with one of: Java, JS, Groovy, Python (whether in application development or automation of testing).
• Understand the defect management lifecycle
• Familiarity with browser compatibility issues
• Good Automated testing skills with tools like Selenium RC / Soap UI or equivalents.
• Familiarity with Agile Development methodologies ( SCRUM, Extreme Programming etc.)
• Understand the Release Management process and how Release Testing fits within this.
• Experience of Regression Testing.
• Experience of creating test documentation (User Stories, Scripts, Requirements)
• Able to work independently and under own initiative.
