We are seeking an experienced Group Reporting Manager who will report directly to the Group Accounting Manager, within the Group Reporting team, but also work very closely with the Group Financial Controller and his direct reports, especially Head of FP&A in the preparation of management reporting, and the Group Chief Accountant in preparation of the Board papers and external reporting. In addition, the team works closely with the Group Tax and Legal departments.

The Group Reporting Manager will play a key role within the Group Reporting team, an integral part of the wider Group Finance department.

The Group Reporting Manager will be primarily responsible for:

• coordinating monthly reporting from all reporting units;
• preparing the monthly group consolidation for both actual and forecast reporting, which requires constant development to keep pace with the evolving business;
• reconciling key monthly balance sheet accounts and cash flow;
• preparing the monthly Management Reporting pack for submission to the Chief Financial Officer and Executive Team and inclusion in the monthly Board Report;
• preparing the financial information for external reporting in the IMS, bank reporting and half and full-year press releases;
• preparing the financial statements section of the Group Annual Report, including preparation of the detailed timetable for all statutory disclosure and disclosure checklists;
• preparing audit schedules and dealing with the auditors in all matters regarding the consolidated group accounts.

The Group consolidation is prepared using the COGNOS reporting package. Local reporting units submit their actual and forecast information to Group by the close of business on “working day five”. The initial consolidated report is then submitted to the Chief Financial Officer by 3:00 p.m. on the following day.

How the role will develop

The role is key to the Group reporting process and the successful applicant will have an opportunity to regularly deal directly with queries from the Chief Financial Officer. As such the role gives the opportunity to develop a good understanding of all aspects of the Group reporting process and to make a major contribution to the Group Finance Team.

Critical skills required:

• 3 years PQE
• Experience of working within a Group Reporting Manager or comparable position, ideally within a Global business
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, with proven experience of Group consolidations.
• Experience of COGNOS would be an advantage
• Strong Excel skills
• Strong team player, able to build relationships with Senior Stakeholders.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines under pressure.
